The star-studded Emmy Awards 2011 spear-headed some of the most alluring spring/summer 2012 red-carpet trends. Red was the most spotted colour at the event while black and blue were predominant. Most celebrities chose body-hugging full length dress with mermaid style hemline. Embroidery, sequins and beads were gracefully embellished over tulle and silk fabrics.
Notable Red Carpet Trends:
RED: Kate Winslet, Nina Dobrev and Lee Michele were few celebrities donning the colour.
COLUMN DRESS: While Clarie Danes embraced the trend effortlessly, Juliana Margulies's unusually stiff bodice did not do much to her attire.
SIDE-SLIT: Jennifer Carpenter and Padma Lakshmi were among those who proudly put their leg forward in a slit gown.
SLEEVES: Kate Winslet, Elizabeth Moss, Evan Rachel Wood, Gwyneth Paltrow and Lee Michele brought back the sleeve-for-gown trend to red carpet.
Clarie Danes glittered in this shimmering strapless column gown from Oscar de la Renta. The sequinned gown has streaks of mid-night blue. Clarie looks effortlessly gorgeous in this streamline cubist couture.
The beautiful Dianna Agron worked on the blue trend in this draped sapphire Rocksanda Ilincic gown. The cowls failed to add glam to the attire.
Elizabeth Moss wore a nude Marchesa gown with gold embroidered illusion sleeve. The sleeve, delicate floral inspired beading, embroidered frock, mermaid hemline and the nude shade... she got it all right!

Evan Rachel Wood sparkled in a black embroidered gown with structured cap sleeve designed by Ellie Saab bringing back the 'old Hollywood glam' to the Emmy 2011 red carpet.
Gwyneth Paltrow embraced the midriff-bearing trend in a black embroidered and tulle detailed trim from the Emilio Pucci spring/summer 2012 collection. I agree with most people that the risk she took simply paid-off. This unusual two piece lace dress might not have looked as graceful as it did on Gwyneth.
The least I can say is Heidi Klum managed not to look hideous in this silk/organza pleated dress. The bold ruffles do create an impact, but failed to bring out the class.
The lovely Jennifer Carpenter walked the red carpet in a figure hugging shimmery gown from Tony Ward with side slit.
Julia Stiles wore a pale grey strapless Gorges Hobeika couture gown accessorized with abundance of diamond jewellery.
Juliana Margulies's inflexible stiff bustier is definitely not cool. The white silk gown with unusual bodice from Armani Prive can easily earn her a place among worst dressed at the event!
ELEGANT is the word. Kate Winslet embraced the red carpet in a red gown with lady-like neckline and cap sleeves from Ellie Saab pre-spring/summer 2012 collection.
Kelly Osbourne looked ravishing in a dramatic plum gown by J Mendel.
Lee Michele worked on the red-for-red-carpet trend in a red Marchesa gown with rosette detailed sleeves and an exposing back.
Nina Dobrev joins the red-brigade in a strapless mermaid gown by Donna Karan. I still wonder how comfortable it is for Nina to walk in that gown. Nevertheless, she looks stunning!
Padma Lakshmi shimmered in a glazing gold, one shouldered Armani Prive gown with slit in center-front.
Sophia Vergara showed off her alluring curves in a coral Vera Wang crepe gown.
