Though it was only a few weeks ago that I relocated from Mumbai to Chennai, an unfamiliar sense of overwhelming nostalgia crept in as my taxi drove from the airport through Mumbai’s infamous skyscrapers adjacent to the dilapidated roads rotting in vindictive monsoon showers. I returned to the city to attend Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014. The extravagant fashion event got a brand new venue in Lower Parel at Hotel Palladium and a handful of new super-talented designers too!
The fancy new venue came with its own hassles to me like traveling all the way from Andheri to Lower Parel, cashing in on sheer luck for some internet connectivity in the venue and most annoying – finding a plug point to charge a phone/laptop. However the five days offered a lot to celebrate about when it came to fashion. Here is my take on Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014 as I collaborated with Triveni Sarees and Jabong this season.
